The expression pretty much kills most of the positives about this as a portrait. That is one of the grumpiest, meanest looks I've ever seen. I guess if you titled it "Disgruntled Cowboy" it might work better as maybe a photojournalistic portrait. The technicals are all excellent - lighting, focus, comp. But the expression just sets the tone for the overall portrait.
