 Taken at night, hand-held, with the focus on the person, but the shutterspeed adjusted primarily for the fire.

Only editing steps were crop, small play with levels, sharpening, and increasing the contrast.

Good original approach, great capture - but not enough focus on the subject for me. Tighter cropping?

Not sure what the title means but I like the shot. I like the mysterious glow of fire light.

Interesting - viewed this on my (abysmal) monitor at work, and all I could see was the fire. Here at homeon my laptop the full image is visible. I really like your idea of using firelight for the portrait, and having some context set, but to really pull it off I feel that you needed just a little more light.

this was a good thought, but the subject is very dark. maybe some more lighting could help

way underexposed. I get that you wanted to show the subject lit by the flames, but I can hardly see him.
