It was before I discovered lycra shorts. Also before I discovered the difference between department store bikes and good ones. That's a Huffy Concours from the BX. Yes, getting up the mountains was a challenge! A triple would have been nice to have.
I take it this was before the common acceptance of lycra shorts with chamois pads, yes? I should definitely do a few long bike rides. Getting up to castles is another story.... :-)
