 I think he is enjoying the seed he is in the process of eating. I'm not sure if soft focus works well for songbird photographs but if I am going to do it I'll use an image like this that already had warm evening light on it.

basically I'm just wanting a 6+ on this one.

Post-processing: Just a bit of levels for contrast. A cooling photo filter. And gaussion blur faded to about 50%.

Can nicely apply the rule of thirds here. The more I look at this the more I like it.
