It's a bummer that you didn't shoot this in the right time frame for the "Dappled Light" challenge. It's a pretty place, and photographed with nice style.
first of all, I see the result of the sun, the ambiance and the wash of light produced by the sun, but....where is the sun?
I first passed this image by not really caring from my first impression.
going back to it, and looking at it more, it reminds me of some fairy tale like "Hansel and Gretel", or "Little Red Riding Hood"....taking that path into a story we all grew up on as kids.
The color is good, light is good, shadows nice, texture excellent, the tree branch on the left is almost distracting, and the negative space on the left hill is too much.
