The difference in lighting between the background and your subject's face really works against this shot. Nice highlights on the hair, great expression and great pose, but that shadow on the face just kills it.
Regardless, this makes me smile - sure looks like he's enjoying the outing and his pinwheel!

Cute, but I'm afraid this comes off as a snapshot. Severely backlit, and some distracting elements of the background cut right through the middle of his head.
