This is the lake next to the hotel where I stayed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Lovely place! Tonemapped, dodged, burned, saturation increased, curves (probably), levels (pretty sure), sharpening, other stuff. Oh, and rotated slightly so the water line looks a bit more level. When it's straight, it looks a bit off, but to me, it now looks crooked. All for the two-second viewer! And not my first choice for the month, but hey, it's color, it's pretty. Let's see if it flies, shall we?
Seems it flew OK! And I'm not a landscape photographer...

wow deb ... i've been very remiss not noticing this extraordinary and beautiful photograph .. CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT PLACE IN THE FREE STUDY ... :)
Smashing image! The yellow sunlit grass really makes this shot dramatic. Congratulations on the top ten placement -- in a Free Study, no less. Terrific achievement.
Ummmm. . . I beg to differ with you that you are not a landscape photographer. I've seen enough of your glorious landscape photos to say that you very MUCH are a landscape photographer.
And ohmygoodness. ..you outDID yourself on this beautiful work of art!
Ahhhh I was gonna come back and comment on this too. Beautiful! Wonderful perspective and gorgeous reflection. Looks like a place that must be seen. 8th place in FS eh? Ok so how about no more complaining about how your work is not reaching the masses lol. I think you reached them on the grand stage with this challenge. Congrats on the top 10!
The quality of light and a general painterly effect without ruining the image with added grain really let this beautiful composition talk to me. Congrats
