I bounced a Sigma EF 500 Super flash in optical slave mode to give it lots of contrast and make the shiny things shiny. I triggered the slave flash with a "diffuser" (a.k.a. a piece of paper towel) over the built-in flash.
It was shot on a tripod and used the timer for shutter release. It was focused manually with the "manual focus zoom" feature.
In Photoshop, I adjusted Levels to enhance the contrast, Unsharp Masking for the web-sized image & Hue/Saturation to correct a color cast -- my kitchen is painted magenta!
