This is a small, hollow glass ball which I dropped (about 45.000 times ;-) into a bowl of water. I wanted to photograph it just above the surface, before it went through the water. This turned out to be more difficult than I thought it would.
The colours in the colour version were a bit insipid so I slightly desaturated the whole thing and added a blue tint.
Here are a couple of outtakes:
It’s also the glass ball I used in this shot:
For shundaroni : This is a glass ball (not a water droplet) and “1” is an odd number, hence the title “Oddball”. Contrary to your arrogant comment, it most certainly does fit the challenge.
Maybe, after the two years you’ve been here, it’s time to put your energy into actually entering a challenge. I wish you luck!

Oh so close to an other ribbon, Irene. Congratulations to yet an other great picture. You're on a roll these days, keep going. And I agree with Oliver, ignore some of the comments!
Congrats on yet another brilliant shot, my dear friend!! And as the comment

- all I can say is YOU GO GIRL!! He made a really RUDE comment on my "Odd" entry as well. Just steams me....
This doesn't fit the challenge at all. A water droplet? Just because you have a photo doesn't mean it makes sense for a challenge. If it's only connection to the challenge is the title you give it, you have to figure it's a bad submission.
Nice! I am trying to look in the reflexion of the drop to see how you did the shot. Aquarium? Might have liked it better without the different reflexions though.
