the harsh light from the sun really takes away from the beauty of the flowers.

Well exposed and good detail, however, it looks like it was taken in harsh midday sun. Some softer side light earlier or later in the day may have been more pleasing.

You should have done some tidying and made syure they were both showing! slightly overexposed but still a very nice image. 7

The flowers overlapping make the shot more interesting. With the background blurred it keeps you focusing on the flowers and you arent distracted from them.

That would be two for sure. You might want to play with the angle on these to better bring out the subjects.

Very nice. Beautiful composition. I dont know, we dont have daffodils in my locale, so i can't really say how much yellow would satisfy me, but i would have loved this photo even more if you had boosted the saturation one notch higher. Still a 9 to me.
