The only desaturation done on this picture was drag down the slider in hue & sat, in the blue channel. I also bumped the contrast a fair bit and messed with curves to get the metal mirror thing. Otherwise, it was pretty much the colour of the day :)

Nice detail in the duck. I would like to see a little more light on its face. Perhaps a little dodging (soft light brush in white) would take care of that. But the point of the shot is the water, and I love the water. I wonder if you desaturated it. The rings and distorted reflections are what I like best.
