Built in 1688, the castle was used as an insane asylum since 1811. During the Governance of the Nazis many thousand sick, old, "non-aryan" and mentally handicapped people were killed in gas chambers in the basements of the castle.
After WWII it housed a factory for turbines as well as a sanatorium and a sheltered workshop.
Truly a place where lots of history took place, this beautiful old building decays since 1991.
Through a window, back and forward in time. A grand image. I like the tone you use in this series. The lace/net curtain, so common in my England, is a nice touch of some distant person.
