Creative thinking. Maybe you could have painted the thumb green, to keep in with the gardening theme ;-Þ (I hope you understand the reference - I don't know if you have a similar expression in Italian.)

that is funny. may be a tighter crop on the top could help focus on your message. I found myself checking what's to see on the top, moving away from the hand.
definitely a creative take on this challenge. your setup and execution is all well done. I'd like to see your outtakes to see exactly how you did this.
