Wow!! A great new personal best! Thank you for the comments and votes. I’d like to thank the little peep for making this all possible. I’m sure I’m not the only one to wonder how on earth this image scored so high (I had it pegged for a 6.4 at best) but I’m not complaining. I may not understand the voters on this one but the voters have spoken….blessed be the voters! : )

How cool is THAT -- two personal bests on the same day! I'm sorry tho that you think this little fellow is gross, seein' as how he has the place of highest honor on your profile page. But, I think the 7.4895 makes him a little less gross, don'tcha think ??? :)

why the score? ummm lighting in great, composition is great, colors are VERY Easter/Spring, peep has depth and isn't 'flat', setup detailed and well executed...score seems fitting to me :-)
Aimeethepincushion strikes again! A fabulous idea for the challenge that enabled you to focus on a single Peep without any other distractions (always a good thing). That said, I wish your lighting had been more dramatic. You made this great prop and then just stopped there. A spotlight would have emphasized the "show off" nature of this rare bird, popped the colors and added dimension. The relatively dull lighting here drags my vote all the way down to a 9, but I predict you'll be cursing this image on your profile page for a looong time. ;-P
A tiny bit more detail in it's face and this would have been perfect - of course there may not actually have been any more detail available . . but apart from that I think it's great.

Beautiful full plumage and very well shot. But the People for the Ethical Treatment of Marshmallows (PETM) is looking into this as a possible abuse case.
