 Shot a bunch of pics of the placemat, experimenting with different patterns and curves, and alternating between shallower and deeper DOF. I liked the lines on this one the best, tho processing is a little harsh in the foreground.

I thought the placemat made a nice background, but standing alone was a bit of a flat image. So I did some alternate takes with one of my daughter's Pokemon figures standing there too.

Good idea - makes for a surreal type of landscape. That would have worked well for the pattern challenge, too.
