I'm just commenting on all my 10s before the challenge ends. I love this photo! Technically, it's not amazing, but it's such an incredible candid shot, and I love the way it's composed. 10 (as I said) - lisae
I like the way that the head is cropped off the actual image and seen only as a reflection. The background is cluttered and I'd prefer it without someone else in shot. Creative/ interesting idea. Kavey
I think I would have been happier with just the reflection, leaving out what you can see above the table. Does he have dreads??? Don't know why, but I don't get those. lhall-7
Meets the Challenge: Yes Artistic Merit (Would I print/frame/hang it?): 3 Creativity (Did a lot of thought go into this photo?): 7 Technical (Focus/DOF/Lighting/Etc): 5 Composition (Subject well-positioned and framed): 6 WOW Factor (Is the photo interesting?): 6
Interesting idea, but I don't think it works too well composition wise. Yes, it's a reflection; but I don't think there's enough of it. The water, which I assume is the prime subject, is – in my opinion – lost to all the distractions around the table that draw the eye away from the central subject. The lighting is a little dull and he focus is slightly soft. I think that cropping the image to only show the blue of the table, the bottom half of the picture, would have worked much better. Sorry to be so negative… (2)
