Too much lighting on the subject makes it look like he is standing in front of a big picture. This would have been excellent if the subject and background looked like they had the same level of lighting.
Unfortuantely, your subject is fighting the sun. His eyes are squinted and he is looking slightly down in an attempt to keep them open. You can also see the brow-line is squinshed and not in a thoughtful way.
