The rock is petrified wood, which gives it its interesting coloration. I region selected the ceiling and darkened it a bit. What looks like the surf line is actually the trim. I also cloned some color and texture onto the face of a rock that was blown out.

Lovely shot! Very "serene" in its harshness. It's a wonderful interpretation! I like the non-literal interpretations and did one myself in this challenge, though it's not doing well. 7 from me
