Hopefully this was "harsh" enough for you voters. I have been wishing lately that I had more places to take photos. I don't know why I haven't though of it before but since I live in the "iron range" there are plenty of cool pits and mines that I could take photos of. This one is an old mine pit that is now abandoned and is literaly on the edge of town (Nashwauk, just 5 miles from where I live). There is a fence behind the peoples' houses on the west side of main street and about 10 feet past the fence it drops off very sharply for a good 150+ feet. I'll have to come back this spring/summer when the ice has melted off.
This is a 5 shot HDR thanks to the new advanced editing. Otherwise I would never have been able to expose for the ice, snow and rocks in the same photo. I added contrast to the rocks and desaturated them a bit. (They are naturally more red) I also warmed the whole scene up, using various photo filters and hue/saturation.
Thanks for reading!

I like the combination of colors and the patchy snow across the middle. Might be a bit stronger composition if you cropped down from the top and only left the portion of the sky with striking detail. Just a nit pic.
