Post Challenge:
After hitting the update button a thousand times during this challenge, this personal best, and top 10 finish, has renewed some confidence in my photography. I was in a string of 5's for a while, and was very happy to get this score.
The comments were outstanding as well... 22 comments during the challenge is among the most I have ever had, so thank you to everyone who took the time to leave me a message.
I have photographed this harbor before, so when the challenge was announced, I knew I wanted to go there. Below you will see two pictures I have in my portfolio that I took last year. The blue image was entered into a free study last year, and the red image is what I was trying to mimic in this challenge... only, the wind/light was different, and because the harbor was partially frozen, i couldn't take advantage of the reflections in the water. I prefer my portfolio image.

Absolutely love this shot, I pass this all the time going up to my family's in Burlington, I got a shot of it myself, and was wondering if someone would capture this for the challenge. I love the use of negative space and the gold glow. Congrats on top 10!
A good subject, well exposed. Would have loved a closer look at this though, with the subject occupying more of the photo. I think that would help with the impact of the shot.
I see where you were going with this but i feel like there is a tad too much negative space up top, composition doesn't feel right with me. Excellent clarity, 7
