This is a shot of the Dale Chihuly glass sculpture located at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Below the main sculpture is an exhibit called "Fireworks" The celling is lined with blown glass and the low lighting is designed to give it the feel of a fireworks show. I was able to set a long exposure and then do a zoom blur on the colorful glass to get this shot.

Thanks for all the votes and great comments. I am thrilled that this did so well. I am new to dpchallenge and really did not know what to expect when I submitted this image.

This was a complex challenge to shoot for, and you found a colorful subject which added interest to the shot. Good job. You are doing very nicely having been on DPC for only a month.
It absolutely blows my mind how anyone (much less 4 people) gave this a one. I don't get it. What could their argument be. It's too blurry. It's too chaotic. Are they just voting down the competition? I wonder.
A fine entry, and very creative. Nice abstract, and this would look good on a wall, to boot. Well done!
But having said that - it's hard to imply that there's somehow anything "messy" in this image, since the consequences seem completely intended, rather than the inverse.
I was looking for a bit more originality, and an element of the "unplanned", which is what makes this challenge so hard to score.
Very cool. Wonderful color and texture. Not sure what it really is, but I like it. Not the messiest subject, but I believe that messes aren't necessarily something you want to try to depict in a dp challenge. Think you went in the right direction with this one.
Ouch this really hurts my eyes. I have to give you an 8 even though I don't like the abstractness because you have met the challenge perfectly, created interest, provided a path for my eyes and made me think. Perfect for this challenge.
