I love the character of lighthouses. This photo shows off the character of this one SO WELL! It so makes me want to be there taking pictures of it myself.

A nice scene and well composed. I do feel that a bit more contrast could help the picture and agree with Melethia that a bit more dynamic sky could help this picture.

I think this is a good subject for black and white - it emphasizes the strength of the lighthouse well. I like the boats beyond - provides good context to the shot. What time of day did you take this? And a more "dramatic sky" would improve the overall quality of the shot - can you get to this location easily or was this a one time deal? If you can get back there, try to go when there are some clouds in the sky for texture. With such an interesting structure, you may want to try different angles as well.

A nice shot, the fact that the sky is so empty really works against the image, off setting the strength of the wall leading the eye to the light house.
