this is the hand of a scarecrow i made in a welding class a few years ago.

The color feels a little flat in this, but I really like the composition.

The tight crop has stripped the essence of the subject away. Frankly, I don't know what I am looking at. Viewed as an abstract photo, the texture is very well captured and the DOF isolates the subject well, but the relation to the title (a hand?) is lost.
