Post-challenge: I am thrilled and honored to share the front page with SandyP. Thanks all for the votes and comments. And, yeah, I agree with the comments that the spider is mooning, not peeking!

Awesome pic but it sends a shiver up my spine and I get really uncomfortable looking at it. I have arachnaphobia. No joke there. I'm scared to death of spiders. No way I could have taken this photo. Good job and congrats.
Gorgeous is right on. Congratulations on earning the ribbon. Very well deserved. What beautiful color and choice of tone. An excellent macro. Looks like a crab spider.
Gorgeous! I'm a sucker for poppy photos anyway, but this is especially good. Very well done. The blurred blue background sets off the flower just right, and the spider shadow is great.
Dawn!! This one was yours??? I LOVE THIS photo so much. How awesome is THAT for this challenge!!! As I was voting, I actually picked yours and Jedusi's red ribbon photo as my top 2 picks. CONGRATULATIONS, Girlfriend!!! :)
I think it should be a tighter crop. In my personal opinion, whole flower is not required and it looks like spider is going in not coming out to say pick-a-boo.
Good idea and great shadow. The Spider actually appears to be going into the flower rather than peeking out . . but hey!
I really like the colours in this, but I'm not sure the Focus is quite sharp enough to bring out the texture of the flower. I think for me that would have made this a really strong contender
Dare I say.... technically... the spider is actually facing down. ;)
Regardless of the inane nitpicking, a very nice photograph. I always liked these types of photographs. If not for the challenge need, it would be nicer had part of the spider not been visible outside the flower.
