Went on a cycling ride called the Chilly Hilly on Sunday, it was a ride around Bainbridge Island, WA, right across the Puget Sound from Downtown Seattle. On the ferry ride back to Seattle after the ride I had my camera that my girlfriend had borrowed to take shots from the ride. I originally wanted to do a landscape of downtown Seattle as we were coming in, but I caught this sailboat against the fog and mountains out of the corner of my eye. I waited until the lighthouse was in view and shot away. It is a lot harder than it sounds taking shots on a ferry in the Sound. There were very strong winds that made shooting freestanding very difficult, and the vibrations from the engine made tripods or using rails on the boat impossible. Not to sure how this is going to do..
During the shot:
-Taken on the deck of the Bainbridge Island to Seattle ferry (the Puyallup)
-Taken freestanding
-Underexposed one full stop
Post shot:
-Levels
-Curves
-Color balance (water more cyan)
-Color balance (sky more red)
-Cloned out an annoying bird in the background
-Crop
-Canvas size (x2)
-Save for web
Not nearly as much editing as I could have done on it, but I was trying to keep it as close to original as I could while still making it look good.
