I have been wanting to take a really good portrait of our Shih Tzu for a while now. I know it is not creative but I love how the photo came out. Very seldom do I get her to stay somewhat sitting up long enough to take a photo. She usually will just lie down and go to sleep.
Set up everything in my entrance way so I could take advantage of the ambient light coming through the glass. Used a brown throw as the background.

Lexie looks regal and beautiful. The pose is classic and shows her curiosity and intelligence. The black background brings out her soft fur and the lighting is natural and soft. A very appealing pet portrait.
Wonderful pose, and nice lighting to get catchlights in her eyes. Either Lexie has extremely soft fur, or some detail was washed out with noise reduction?
