Shot with Exp Comp = -1, to avoid snow burn. I tweaked in DPP, then in CS2 I used shadow/highlight to bump the contrast and recover some burned out details in the sun side of the trees. I did a fair amount of blur in the sky to reduce the noise added by shadow highlight, some d&b,a sharpen pass, brightess/contrast adjustments, crop to remove the very edge of the road that crept into the shot, reduced size, another USM pass then saved for teh web.

Seems like a nice landscape, I wish it was a lil bit wider as a part of the tree on the left got cropped off... It seems like there's some dodge and burning going on seems to me like you used the settings of it way too high and that's why the lower parts of the frozen lake got burnt? Does meet the challenge tho =]
seems so cold and desolate. good job conveying emotion and feeling. I like the composition in general but cant help wonder how a wider crop and a tighter crop would have effected this shot. Something worth cosidering.
