Only adjusted the brightness and spot edited the leaf in behind. I used layers to decrease the brightness of the leaf because the leaf detracted from the overall image. Taken at a local conservation centre. The lighting and positioning of this lovely bird was a fluke.

I disagree with the comments below that don't like the headroom - i think it adds to the impact. I do agree that going 100% black would have been preferable. very nice shot.
I would have probably cropped it more square, and brought the head so the eye was in the thirds spot. otherwise it is great. the neck counterpoints the curve of the body nicely.
I love flamingo shots and i have tons of them, One thing about them is that there has got to be somthing that makes them pop ie.. color veriations, brite or interesting pinks, good eyecontact shots ect... Just an ide good effort on this one K
I took some of these in cancun yours is much better These are very interesting animals...
great color and composition get in close to the animals I SAY! 9
A wonderful piece of work - but the edges of the flamingo appear to be photo shopped (to help give it a black background). I would have given this a perfect score otherwise
great color. the only thing i see that could use some improvement are the leaves in the background. using layers i would have blacked the background out covering the leaves. still its a fine shot.
