I think the depth of field doesn't really help this because the emphasis becomes on the messiness of the tape instead of what the symbol is. Interesting concept though
Interesting idea and the implementation is ok, but not great. DOF, lighting and contrast could've be a bit better and would have brought out some of the great texture of the tape.
The soft focus, the torn and uneven pieces of the tape are a little distracting. I like the point of view rather different from a straight top down shot.
