I used this leaf in the Flora II challenge too. It was dried up back then in Oct. 2007, so imagine how dry, crinkly and rolled up it was when I found it a few days ago behind the bread bin ;-)
Put some water coloured with orange food colouring into the glass saucer I bought for the Advertisement III challenge and lay the leaf in it.
When I checked my images on my laptop this one had a sort of “peaceful, easy feeling” for me. Hope the voters think so too.

Thanks so much for all the comments and votes. Love to Shez who recogniized this as mine straight away.

I bow to a great photo taken by an equally great photog. Congrats on the high placement and congrats on your success in the Enzo Tourney.
Thought I had a chance ... what was I thinking. Now you have to go all the way and win it so I do not feel so bad :D Good luck this week

Thanks, Coley. You're a gentleman (and a damn good photographer). It was a pleasure competing against you.

there is a lot of awesome happening in this photograph... the beautiful transition of colors, the clarity and light on the leaf, and the refection, all make for a very dynamic and solid photograph. good luck! 9
The clarity of this extraordinary, and the sweep of the water is beautiful. The difference in the texture of the foreground water to the rest has resulted in the appearance that the leaf is suspended above the water - had there been a greater sense of connection it would have been a 9, as it is, a strong 8.
Nice macro shot. Maybe having the whole leaf in focus may be better as teh front of the underside looks a bit soft when there is great texture on the the top.
I like the tones and a sharp shot with good detail, without the title I don't think I would get the peaceful connection,
other nit I don't like the cut end.
Love the reflection and texture. Pleasing tones too. I wish the leaf wasn't cropped on the right but a great shot and I'm back to bump you up to 8. One of the best of the challenge IMO.
This is interesting. It's well focused and maybe a tad oversharpened. The streak in the back/upper-left is from the bowl or dish I take it...gives the image a sense of motion/movement which is cool. Lighting is a little hot in the extreme highlights of the leaf. Clever idea. Good luck in the challenge.
This photograph is strong because it uses an analogous color scheme. Also the reflection is very detailed. The shadows on the top of the leaf are also very strong.
