Challenge: Leading Lines IV (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 II/III USM
Location: Heidmork, Iceland
Date: Feb 13, 2008
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/400
Galleries: Nature, Water
Date Uploaded: Feb 18, 2008

This beautiful vortex can often be found in a small stream in Heidmork. The weather was dull and gray this day so the blue color comes from a Hue/Sat/Light-layer. Contrast was enhanced with a Levels-layer. Crop, resize, frame and gentle USM.

Excellent shot. I like the fact that you used spirals for lines. They all lead to your black hole. Nice interpretation of the challenge!

I find the reflections on the water to be distracting. My eye keeps jumping from the hole to the area in the lower left

I doesn't have one straight leading line to it but I like how it swirls.

I like your DOF used in this shot, would have liked the actual hole to be shifted to the right just a tad more to make better use of the rule of thirds. Nice lighting overall.
