I really like the concept of this photo, focusing on the feet, but I'm missing the connection with the challenge. Is is the patterns on the wing that you are talking about? If so, I don't see a parallel there. Or is it with the lighting lines? The DOF is really awesome, highlighting the orange foot in contrast with the rest of the picture.
