A whimsical self-portrait. I've always loved anything edible that is the color blue. I was the child with the blue tongue! I took the photo with make-do lighting...I cropped the photo...I used Photo Elements to clean it up..I softened my face and skin tones...helped the background become more white...levels, and resize. The photo isn't meant to be serious or a perfect capture of my image.

Blue eyes ... blue tongue ... blue necklace ... blue drink ... Picasso had nothing on you kiddo. Great amusing shot. Refreshing to see someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously. Wish I could vote I'd give you a 10.
For me, a portrait needs to communicate something of the person's character. I'm not sure what to take from this photo. Is this meant to be amusing? Is she a comic character? Is this apoking fun at the viewer. I'm confused.
"It is easy to make a picture of someone and call it a portrait. The difficulty lies in making a picture that makes the viewer care about a stranger." - Paul Strand"
I'm asking myself what element(s) of this portrait make me care about this person. The backlighting feels particularly harsh.
i do like the comparison of all the different blues here...and she may be a fun loving woman but for a portrait I would think this may have been better without the tongue sticking out...technically a good photo
