 my first attempt at a daguerreotype look

started with a sheet metal overlay on the base image, twice - once in multiply 50% and the second in multiply 59%
color fill layer - gray-ish, 77/77/77, in overlay at 23%
levels
curves
this telescope overlay twice, both in overlay 100%
then this vintage background overlay in overlay mode at 67%
masked out a wee bit at the bottom that got too dark
resize, usm

Very cool result. Love the composition, for one. The telescopish type filter is excellent - giving a remote feel to the image. The other filters really add the "OLD" look. Wonderful!
