this is taken on my grand piano in my living room. i found this conch shell when i was in the bahamas a couple years ago and thought that since it was so damn pretty, as well as having an incredible reflection in the piano, it might do better then my other pictures so far(trust me, i havnt done so well so far)
what do you think about all the white space?

This seems slightly oof to me. The problem with soft focus vs. oof is that there is a fine line between "oops" and "I meant to that." If your purpose was soft focus you didn't go far enough, if your purpose was just to show the shell and the reflection...it is oof.
Congrats on getting a new personal best! You're making very steady improvement from what I can see. Very neat and uncluttered set up and well exposed. I think I may have cropped down a bit - put more emphasis on the reflection. Truly a great surface for reflections, too!
Over all a nice image, for me the tables edge in the background is a bit of a distraction. Also from a personal stand point going all black would have made the sea shell really stand out.
I think this shoot could have been improved if you had lowered a little the camera so that the table rim would fall exactly where the real shell meets its reflection, so that the real one was against a white background and the reflection against a black one. Not sure how this would have affected the reflection.
