Yesterday afternoon at Hava Java. They have free WiFi. I've taken candids there before, but with my little P&S. I fretted for a little while about taking out my big bad black camera in this small space, but when I did so, nobody even took notice.
The sun was coming in low in this photo. I processed it with a few filters - nik efex and xero - forget which now, because I fiddled with it for a while. Wanted to get a slightly dreamy look going there.
I like the processing you've done here and the light streaming in adds warmth to the scene. It is good to see that you stepped out of your comfort zone a bit by taking out your big bad black camera.
I like how you've captured this guy "in his own world". I especially like that window there (or is it a frame?) with car suggesting yet another space. You may want to try some soft focus or Orton to get dreamy, although I can seem some here already.
I have the same phobia Alicia, about taking pictures in public. I like the way you've captured the concentration on this guys face. Processing is good too.
Haven't quite mastered the art of candids yet. Always feel very self conscious. I like the fact this guy is totally oblivious to the fact that you caught him on camera.
