Thanks for the comments everyone! I was trying to focus your attention on the face and eyes through the direction of the frogs body, leaf placement, and depth of field. I think that the slightly brighter level in the upper left corner does pull one's eyes away. It was fun and my best rated photo yet!
I would like to see more of these longer challanges as I really do not have the time during the week to participate in the weekly challanges as much...
Oh, if you are interested...the common name of this frog is the "Tiger-Legged Monkey Frog" or the "Barred Leaf Frog". They are not poisonous and use their brightly colored flash markings to attempt to startle any would be predators...
Hmm lets see first second or third. I cant tell but Im looking at a winner. Beautiful focus and color. Feels like the little guy is goin gto hop right onto my keyboard. Wonderfull Image. 9
wow.....what a photo. I would like to be able to take a photo like this.....maybe one day I will....crisp & sharp where it needs to be....the eye detail is great! 10 from me!
Do the patches of yellow and balck signify that this is poisonous in some way. He is very agile, is he a tree frog? He has an intelligent expression on his face (perhaps it is a 'she', who knows)? and the picture seems well-balanced.
Great composition. Everything in the image leads the viewer's eye to the frog's face: the lines of the frog itself, the shallow DOF, and the leaf on the right that acts as a frame.
