I waited for a wee bit of light through the back window then attempted (heavy on the "attempt" part) to photograph my cats: the lovely blue-eyed Miss Emma, and the slightly devious Sir Thomas the Holy Terror Cat from Hell. Miss Emma, without a doubt, has the most gorgeous blue eyes - they're quite captivating. And I have some very good shots of her I'll post later. But this shot seemed to capture a bit of Sir Thomas' slightly devious side. Light was coming from the window to his right/viewer's left, with very little light in the room to his left.
Processing is as follows: apply the curve set from the acid action; selective color adjustment layer, adjusting yellows, whites, and neutrals; levels; flatten, sharpen, crop; then slight desaturation of yellows, and slight desaturation overall. Added a border. Pretty sure the processing is a bit much for some, but I think it suits this particular cat's personality well.

Very nice high key. The eye detail is amazing. I love how your mind seems to fill in the details on the left hand side. Very nice soft and serene light, makes the kitty look heavenly.
This high key is really lovely; and the framing is well chosen - I especially like the bit of black showing in the top corners - complements the whole image without being "too much" (I say that as if I know what "too much" means ;) ).
What a wonderful image (and this from a non cat lover). Tremendous high ket shot and the darkness of the eyelids (especially the one on the left) combined with the subtle eye colour and pupil just give a brilliant focal point and add real oopm to the image
I still love this shot, Deb. That eye hanging out in all the white, the big, sharp eyes. Even the fact his pupils are different because of different amounts of light.
This is beautiful! The high key works so well with that slightly acid treatment -- because I love those eyes in that sea of white. I'm glad Sir Thomas didn't forget his modeling skills while you were in Iraq :)
I'm not really a fan of the blue-green tint because for me it detracts from the eyes, rather than complementing the color of them. The eyes are so big and beautiful that I'd rather have seen the color of those be the main feature of the pic. I love how it starts as bright white on the left and then the rest of the face slowly enters the picture.
I love it :)
The lack of detail on his right reminds me of Japanese paintings, where a few simple lines imply a great deal of form. What detail there is on the left lets our mind "fill in the blanks". Great job with a tough model subject!
