After the Rivers challenge, I downloaded the Photomatix program (I had expected it to be a much larger file...), just to try it out. This is three exposures from one RAW file. It's much easier than I would have thought, but takes a while on my computer. Some judicious healing brush work got rid of the watermark later, and here it is.
There certainly is an improvement from the original unedited file!
