All fits in this photo, the pale sky, the misty, the relax attitude from the life guard, the color. Very good edition Alicia. I really like this image.
I think that I like the first edit better because this one lost the blue in the sky. Composition is great, with the bird leading into the main subject, and the hazy shoreline.
Have you looked at this as a duotone or B&W? You could use the levels and color controls to get interesting effects.
