Just submitting for the sake of it. Might score around 5.5 or less seeing that there must be some heck of shots in this challenge.
Though I must admit that I have few shots those are better than this one, but for long time I wished to enter Tajmahal for free study and for this challenge. Unfortunately this shot is very cliche and nothing special. But it is Taj so it is in.
Post challenge:
I got my personal best which is good surprise. Then I got under 50 which is another surprise consider that I wanted to skip this whole challenge.
I got 3 favs during voting, thanks to them for appreciating.
Anyway I will keep my promise to provide printable file.
So anybody wants to print is please send me email at zxaar@yahoo.com
I will send you the jpg. This jpg is without sharpening so sharpning you might have to apply based on size of print you want to take.
Thanks for appreciating this cliche shot.

Not quite a cliche shot! Cliche shots of the Taj Mahal are looking at it from straight on down the centre of the reflecting pools - yours is to the side, and that makes a difference. Plus the tones, which look great even on this crappy monitor at school.

Wow, you got that right.. (thing of beauty). Love the tones.
These tones are on purpose, there was no other way to make it out of ordinary. I made three versions of this tone (very subtle difference) and asked my wife if she liked any. She said she did not like any of them. Well but I knew this is the right one. :-D
This is absolutely beautiful. Your exposure is dead on.
"Unfortunately this shot is very cliche and nothing special. But it is Taj so it is in." You're insane! You've captured the sheer power and delicacy of an amazing piece of architecture. It's not easy to do what you've done here. Don't short sell yourself.
Really I was very worried about the fact that it is photographed so much. But one way you are correct that presenting something that is photographed so much in new light is challenge in itself. I had hard time, but finally pulled it off.

This is simply stated - fantastic! I could definately see this as an art print hanging in a home. Lovely duotone colors, detail is great...I imagine this will finish high for you!
Exellent capture and conversion. Image is nice and sharp. The perspective is pretty standard (mind you magnificent). THe conversion gives it a historical feel. GOod Luck. 7.
I like the high key effect here. One nitpick though, the little bush on the left. If you could have, one step to the right would probably have provided the separation needed between the bush and the building.
One we've all seen a thousand times before.... but there is something about the match of the sky with the stone and mortar of the building that really sets this one apart for me. Very nice.
I like the off centre lead in and the toning is perfect. The left hand tower has lost it's verticalness and it's such a lovely image it would be worth correcting that. Well done :)
Sometimes it is very hard to capture the intrinsic beauty of a building as magnificent as the Taj Mahal, especially when it has been photographed so many times before...However you succeed on both counts. I love the use of sepia which has both created a wonderful sense of age about this shot and also flies in the face of tradition images that try to convey exactly how white the building is
Seems slightly (and I mean slightly) blown just to the right of the main dome, but still a wonderful 9
