Decided I needed to work on my strobist skills. I used my tightest home made grid to light just her face while ambient lit everything else. I wore a single flash on a tether around my neck, aimed the camera with one hand, aimed the flash with the other, and chased my daughter around the yard. I would have liked to have the flash further off camera for more depth on her face.
I _did_ learn something, though. I set the camera Tv mode (I chose max sync speed of 1/200), asked for a one stop dark exposure, and let the camera choose aperture. As the ambient lighting changed I chimped and adjusted manual flash power. This worked well as I was plenty busy chasing my subject.
