I started out just driving around searching for something fairly photogenic. In the back of my mind, I had a vague recollection of another photographer mentioning an abandoned school out in the country about 1/2 hr. from my house, so I went looking for it. It was on a fairly long road, and I had just about given up finding it, when there it was!
I was thankful that the challenge was this time of year because I imagine all sorts of growth in the weeds and vines surrounding the school during the warm months. There was even a hole in the fencing that I could get through to get the shots I wanted.
Now, I'm interested in finding out more of the history behind this old school building. I am very happy with the photo. I tried it in b/w, but decided that the colors add to the shot and will probably make it stand out from what I suspect will be a majority of b/w and sepia tone in this challeng. It's also one of the first basic challenges I've entered in.....well, a long long time :) I hope it does well!
