 The Golden Eagle aerie blew out of a tree and was aboandoned by the owners. A parent brought it to the library at Isaac's school.

Cropped, tone adjustment, USM, bordered to try and cover some of the cabinetry.

Yes, silence at last. But this picture is NOT something I want to look at! What is that, entrails in there? Ewww! Also, I found the frame too large and the feathering of the frame doesn't improve the image.

I like this approach to the challenge. There is a possible double meaning to the "empty nest" Theme.

the empty nest....... yes now quiet. The memory of the chicks singing for their supper is deafening. Unique frame is perfect.

Well, this is not a very interesting subject unless it's out in its natural setting, but to try saving this particular shot I would've cropped closer instead of using the vignetting, and converted to B/W. It looks pretty awful as it is

This shot is too busy, too much going on and shot from an uninteresting perspective, the faded border pulls eye way from your imagible area

Nice idea.
I find the frame extremely distracting.
Photo is also a bit dully lit.

Looks well used too. Excellent choice. Just a thought, perhaps trim the edges to only allow for the chaos of the twigs, egg and feathers.
