Interesting. Doesn't give me much of a sense of silence though. The hand barely showing is distracting. Hard to get good exposure (like more in the bird to bring out the feathers more) on a fast moving target

somehow, this looks like a very violent and hectic scene.

Neat shot. I don't get the feeling of silence here.

I think this would've been better if framed against either the entire sky, or have the horizon level. Perhaps stretch the photo to give it a bit more width.

Silence ? Great catch, but does not express silence to me.

This looks like chaos, not silence.

Must be the first silent gull in the history of the world... nice shot, though!

nice picture, for sure... but i'm not sure this is to the point

Silent? Probably not. Great picture? Absolutely.

Wow, quite breathtaking! I'm not sure that I feel this is "silent" but it's an excellent shot and worth showing to everyone.

For some reason I don't think when you took this shot it was silent at all, those birds must have been squwaking like crazy, other than that the photo is excelent, don't think it fits this catigory, maybe should have entered it in the free March study. 5

I don't think these birds would be silent.

i dont imagine it was silent at this moment, nice image, not quite silent 5

Not sure there's silence here.

Really cool composition, but I didn't score it high because it doesn't say "silence" to me. Sea Gulls are loud when they're fighting for food and you're obviously in a motor boat...nice shot though...

This is a super-cool shot. It would be worth entering in the march challenge if you're allowed. Very cool action shot.

This is an amazing capture; not one that conveys silence, to me.
03/04/2004 01:29:04 PMPost actions
Silence was the challenge. The shot is interesting but conveys noisey birds, boat and waves.

This is a cool photo.....It definitely does NOT convey silence. I "hear" those wings flapping and birds cawing as well as the water.

That looks anything but silent!
03/03/2004 07:42:09 PMPost actions
This is a terrific shot, but better for the theme of noise!
03/03/2004 07:18:00 PMPost actions
Can't help but think of this shot as noisy, given the wake left behind by the boat. Either way, great catch You and the bird! :)

How does this relate to silence?
03/03/2004 04:01:27 PMPost actions
How in the world does this fit the challenge?
nice action shot though.

Nice shot though it looks pretty noisy to me

I'm going to have to say that seagulls are some of the most UN-silent creatures I know of...

Wow.... Must have taken some time to get it so cool,,,,,
Amazing photo but I think many people won´t see silence her... 8

Nice action catch. However, I couldn't get where the silence is since all birds should be screaming for food at that moment.

Great action shot! Full of motion and vibrancy, the moterboat wake, the flashing feathers and the popcorn jumping out of your hand. I love the way the yellow of the popcorn sets off the blue. The only thing it's missing is.......a lack of implied noise
03/03/2004 01:49:23 AMPost actions
Crazy shot.. I love it. I wish it were more... silent. I shouldn't score you this well, but 8.

Does Alfred Hitchcock know about this plagiarism? LOL very good shot. Not sure we see Silence in this shot.
