The tones in this image makes me feel cold. Great job. I can see what you mean by the higher grade lens on this one. It assisted you in taking a fantastic photo. Glad to see in olympus e500 make the front page. Also, nice touch with the star.

Now, if you had have changed the background to white, the actual object to blue and green, taken off the star, added a mountain the background and a nude.......hey....you woulda had 1st!!!! ;)

I didn't vote on the Ice challenge and this is the first time I have seen this photo - it is beautiful! It would look gorgeous as a canvas print, or as a Chritmas card for next year.

What a phenominal shot! Exquisite focus, shapes, sparkle and background! Makes me feel COLD and yet warm all at the same time. Love the title and the star adds a certain.....je ne sais quoi that simply adds to the enchantment of this shot. Nicely done!
I'm glad that this has been validated as it proves that the seemingly "impossible" simply means that someone cannot figure out how the heck you could possibly do this within the rules! *grin*
This is such a nice shot without the star. The exposure, focus and contrast are outstanding and the grass(?) is a nice subject. To me, the star just distracts from the rest of the (otherwise excellent) photo.
Beautiful lighting, color and use of selective focus. The star is a nice focal point but I almost wish it wasn't there to focus on the beauty of the needles.
