Challenge: Beauty In The Everyday (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III
Location: Virginia
Date: Dec 18, 2007
Aperture: f/5.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/160
Galleries: Abstract, Nature
Date Uploaded: Dec 18, 2007

This is my first entry with my new DSLR. The 75-300 lens is a real joy to use, and I can't wait to get my hands on more toys like it. This is just a tree outside my back window; with the short hours of daylight these days, plus a full-time job and almost constant colds and flu, the balcony is about as far afield as I can get for picture-taking. I didn't do any editing on this shot.

I like the concept but the composition and lighting are holding it back.

it is a little too simple to me, if there was a bright color in there it would have made it more interesting

I like the idea, but the word "infinite" seem to be a bit of an exaggeration.

Nice colors, but I'm not finding anything as a central subject and my eye just wanders around the image.

quite busy - it gives the idea of infinite complexity, but you lose the beauty.

The picture seems to be a little busy with odd bits and pieces in focus. Would have been better if there for a single point of focus, at least for me.

What should I focus on?
