OK, generally I am quite reluctant to use my kids in challenges, but this was a true candid shot on a recent visit to Colchester Zoo.
I am very happy with the natural lighting here filtering through the water and also the focus not only in her eye, but the eyes of the reflection.. I dont expect this to do as well as some of my recent entries, but I am hoping it goes beyond the cutesy factor and is seen as a very serious portrait of my daughter.

OK< great score, thanks everyone, I am really glad this did well as cute kids rarely do well on DPC so it was a bit of a gamble.
Even better, it now means that I have a straight run of 8 top ten finishes in the last 8 challenges I entered, or even better, 10 top tens in the last 12 challenges entered.
Oh, and she was 4 on Sunday, so happy birthday Abigail.. xxxx

Wow! Gorgeous shot Mark! I'm surprised that this is under the 7.0 mark. But you were up against some tough competition. This really is gorgeous though!
8 - Beautiful portrait. Colors are nice. Sure this will be a treasure for the family. Minor, but the little something top left distracts slightly (once you notice it). Lighting is nice.
not gonna vote on this Mark because I know it's your shot Simmo. I thought you would of gone with the Lion head but I can understand you going with the heart, she is absolutely gorgeous and Im glad she looks more like Mum.
