Took this one in the evening in frost and wind. made it little more triky since i was using a tripod for 30 sec..
pretty happy with the result though. The light on the left is from the skiing area in the mountains and on the right the moon shines.
You can also see on some places where its kind of blurry but thats because of the snow that was blowing all the time in the wind. Guess i will get some minus point for that even if i like the center focus myself:/

The center focus did catch my attention, but like I said, the image wouldn't have had such a strong unbiased tension if the structure were left or right of center. Don't beat yourself over the decision, it definitely worked.
Wow this is phenomenal, congrats on the ribbon, very nicely executed, really neat outcome, i also would like to have an off centered composition as was mentioned before, but nonetheless very well deserved ribbon, top notch shot, adding to faves
Can't bbelieve you got so many sticklers for the rules objecting to the centre composition of the main object.
To me, this is very well balanced, with the yellow light of the ski resort and the white light of the moon being focus points in their own right. The hut in the centre helps to balance these two out very well.
Thanks everyone... Thrilled with my new christmas ribbon;)
Thanks for all the really helpful and good comments.
I was trying to have the shelter not so centerd but somehow i lost the balance in the capturue when i moved it off centerd.I
learned alot from this challenge and appreciate the honesty in your comments..
I would request you to visit NEPAL, and explorer all it's wonderful landscape with your talent. Help Nepal to make Photographers Paradise. Any way I am trying to learn photography, every pictures in this site make me WOW, and yours is really a nice work.
Stunning image. Lots of tension here, which I always like. Trying to think of someway to put the building out of the center of the image, but that would take away the effect. White on the right is a bit overwhelming, but I think it actually adds to the effect here.
That moon is intense! It's casting a shadow from the house. A little trick I've learned for shots like these is to wave your hand in front of the right part of the lens. It will block some of the light from the moon, but still give it a nice transition, as opposed to just keeping your hand there, which would cause a harsh line.
You captured the bareness of the scene so well, congrats! I'm giving it a good score but would have been higher if you either cropped the moon out or used a cutout to reduce the exposure time on it. Regardless, this is one of my favorites of the challenge.
