 The person in the picture is my self. Also I took that picture by myself.
I was trying to extract the light from the end of the pipe line and block with my face in the center.

lighter parts of this picture are over blown... the round things behinds your model's head are distracting... all together it has no appeal... whether or not it conveys silence doesn't really matter here... as entry into a photography contest it's weak... 2.

Not realy an Image I would hang on my wall.
Sort of seems like someone standing in front of a pipe with a dumb look on their face!

At least you are trying for something more than a cliche shot. But it's not clear to me how this conveys silence. Might work better with less harsh light on the man, maybe black and white?

The light behind the young man's head almost looks like a hat of some sort. Nice photo, but... silence?

I do not get this photo. I'm not sure how it fits into "silence". Perhaps I am missing a deeper meaning. I'm also not fond of the composition.

OK, so maybe I don't have a Master's Degree in Psychology, but I'm at a total loss at what this has to do with silence or even it's hidden meaning! :) I'm sure the photographer had an idea of what he wanted to express, but it didn't translate well for this viewer. Too cerebral for me!
